Local Social Enterprise wins Best European Social Firm 2010
Local Social Enterprise Daisies Cafe wins Best European Social Firm 2010 creating sustainable jobs specifically for people with mental health problems.
At the recent CEFEC International Conference Daisies Café, which is based in Newtownards and Downpatrick in Northern Ireland, and in Bradford, England won the Best Small European Social Firm category for working with people with mental illness.
Derek McClure, Director, was presented with the certificate by Sally Reynolds, Secretary General of CEFEC and Peter Speckhahn-Hass of the Di.Hako-Group who sponsor this award.
Daisies Café provides an alternative form of day care for people with learning disabilities and mental illness through training and employment opportunities in a commercial environment.
